Job Description:

Information Management (IM) Coordinator

The Role:

The Information Management (IM) Coordinator will provide overall technical information management support to all assigned projects. The incumbent will work closely with project managers to develop information management tools and systems in line with specific project information needs and objectives. The position holder will be responsible for providing overall guidance and implementation of digital tools development, development of dashboard and generating reports and provide timely and relevant information to the project staff. The IM Coordinator will also be responsible for strengthening the IM capacity of DME and project staff in information systems development and management. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute in maintaining data integrity in various internal and external databases and to the enhancement of information systems to improve data management, reporting and to adapt to the changing landscape in information technology.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • A minimum of a university degree which includes Computer Science/ Data Science or Information Management/ Statistics with relevant IM working experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in information management, data management or performing statistical analyses with a reputable organization/firm, NGOs or humanitarian agencies.
  • Proven skills to analyze statistical information and ability to compile and holistically analyze diverse datasets.
  • Demonstrated information management skills and understanding of different data collection methodologies
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of need assessments, information management, and capacity development.
  • Strong understanding and experience in implementing relational databases, data visualization and acquisition
  • Have keen observation to data and have strong data analysis including advanced skills in using Excel, Power BI, Tableau and other database related platforms
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the ability to design, develop, and implement systems and databases to access and store geospatial data using tools such as ArcGIS/QGIS and Map box
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Zoom and Box, and Microsoft Visio
  • Knowledge of the SPHERE standards, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships; other international humanitarian standards and other capacity building skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Somali

Working Environment:

The position is field-based in Garowe, Puntland with frequent travel to other target project locations.
