Job Title: PROGRAMME Associate(school feeding)

What will you do?

  • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of school meals activities and processes ensuring alignment with WFP policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly distribution plans and verify planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items.
  • Support efforts to address findings from school monitoring visits as well as reviews and evaluations.
  • Prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g., food needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control.
  • Work closely with implementing partners and ensure that data and reports are received timely, reviewed, and captured in relevant corporate platforms.
  • Participate in school assessments and any other school feeding missions.
  • Coordinate and liaise with partners (government, UN agencies, NGOs) in the implementation of the school feeding programme to ensure effective delivery.
  • In collaboration with the WFP Logistics team, ensure liaison between the beneficiaries (school leaders, parent committees, pupil representatives) and retailers.
  • Support the capacity building of government, WFP staff and cooperating partners within the technical area.
  • Participate in Education Cluster coordination meetings and share situational updates with partners.
  • Act as a point of contact for the resolution of a range of operational queries and problems around school feeding.
  • Support integration of protection, gender, and other cross-cutting issues in all areas of work.
  • Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

Do you meet the minimum requirements?

  • Completion of secondary school education and a certified university degree in the areas of Social Sciences, Development Studies, Agriculture, Nutrition, or other closely related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible work experience in food security, nutrition, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Are you competent for this job? Do you have

  • A sound understanding of the social, economic, political, and cultural environments impacting food security, nutrition, and livelihoods in Somalia.
  • Experience in coordination, planning, and managing food and nutrition security programmes for results.
  • Experience in building and managing partnerships with government, local community counterparts, donors, or other stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Prior experience working in the UN or NGO setting is an advantage.
  • Willing to undertake periodic missions to remote field locations in support of programme implementation?
