MARKETING MANAGER
HIMILO – GAROWE – PUNTLAND
Company Summary:
Himilo is a financial institution that provides micro-lending services to economically disadvantaged and low-income households, small-scale entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, and start-up firms that would not have access to such services otherwise. It arose from the goal to enhance the quality and accessibility of financial services offered to poor and unbanked Somalis. It delivers products and services complying with Sharia law. Himilo’s main office is located in Garowe, Puntland, Somalia.
General Position Summary:
The marketing manager will ensure that the institution’s marketing function, including the creation of marketing plans, is consistent with its organizational strategy and that the development of a marketing plan and interpretation and evaluation of market research data are effectively implemented. His/her responsibilities include the creation and promotion of various investment portfolios, as well as the creation of pricing, customer segmentation, and consumer trends.
Essential Job Functions:
- Undertake market research to understand the trends and customer preferences.
- Define consumer marketing and develop the product.
- Develop product & services portfolio and define segmentation guidelines and disseminate to concerned departments.
- Lead and improve digital marketing segment to improve the company’s presence in the all-digital platforms.
- Translate customer insights and opportunities into actionable annual marketing plans and tactical promotional campaigns.
- Strategy development and planning of campaigns that can promote the business and generate genuine traffic (both offline and online)
- Creating engaging and informative content for the website, blog, social media, and any other content marketing channels that the business might leverage.
- Develop pricing strategy and analysis and validate pricing plans for products & services.
- Review and input on marketing plans of various segments related to distribution, product, CRM strategy, etc.
- Develop marketing KPIs, monitor and report performance.
- Coordinate with Sales and Technology on bill layout design and special inserts and communications.
- Contribute to the development of an effective Consumer Marketing division, supporting the commitment to customer focus, as well as enhancing overall performance through adherence to documented policies, procedures and processes and performance measuring and monitoring KPIs

Minimum Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, business administration, or similar.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field will be advantageous.
- At least two years’ experience as a marketing manager.
- Proficiency in digital marketing.
- Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding.
- Superb leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Proficient and fluent in spoken and written Somali & English Languages
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills are preferred.
Environmental Conditions
This position is based in Garowe, Puntland – Somalia, and is unaccompanied. Himilo team members represent the company during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and company’s policies, procedures, and values always and in all in-country venues.
